What a buyer should know
The inland-waterway case
Sold with a 60 kW electric shaft drive on a hull also offered with diesel, the Delphia 10 is built for a specific and rather good use case: French, Dutch, German and Italian inland waterways, where speed limits are low, locks are frequent, and marinas increasingly offer shore power. On that duty an electric shaft drive is not a compromise but an upgrade — no exhaust in the cockpit at a lock queue, no idling noise, and a duty cycle mild enough that a modest battery lasts a day. Two cabins and four berths make it a credible week-away boat for a couple with occasional guests.
What is missing, and what it costs
The critical gap is that no battery capacity is published for this configuration. For a canal cruiser that is the number that decides everything — hours between charges, whether a long lock-free stretch is comfortable, whether an overnight on shore power resets you fully. Ask for it in kWh before ordering.
The €269,000 shown is the base list price, and the electric drivetrain is likely to carry a premium over the diesel entry spec; confirm the delivered figure. Note also that Delphia sits within a large conventional boatbuilding group, which is reassuring for dealer coverage and parts but means the electric variant is a line item rather than the company's core expertise.
Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
