Smaller, more affordable sibling to the Eelex 8000 on the same platform — same 30-knot top speed and similar range (50nm at 6 knots vs. the Eelex's 100nm) despite roughly half the motor power and battery capacity (single 63kWh Kreisel pack vs. the Eelex's two). Available as an open boat or semi-enclosed Top version. X Shore has also begun a commercial "Pro" variant on the Eelex platform for Swedish school-transport use. PRICE UPDATE: originally marketed at under €100,000 ex tax (2023 source); the Volta Yachts marketplace lists a current starting price of €129,000 as of this research pass — reflects a real price increase over time, not a data error.

Half the motor power and one battery pack (vs. two on the Eelex 8000) but matches its 30-knot top speed thanks to a lighter hull.

Our take

What a buyer should know

The sensible half of the X Shore range

The X Shore 1 does something unusual for an entry model: it concedes almost nothing where owners actually notice. It keeps the Eelex 8000's 30-knot top speed on roughly half the motor power and half the battery, at €129,000 against €249,000. What it gives up is endurance — 50 nautical miles at 6 knots against the Eelex's 100 — and interior volume.

For many buyers that is the right trade. Archipelago and lake use, short runs to a restaurant or a swimming spot, a boat kept on a berth with shore power and used in two- or three-hour bursts: none of that needs 126 kWh, and the single Kreisel pack costs less to charge and, eventually, less to replace. The cabin with two berths makes an occasional night aboard possible without pretending to be a cruiser.

Where the limits are

The 50-mile figure belongs to 6 knots. Range at 30 knots is not published anywhere, and anyone intending to use the performance regularly should insist on that number before ordering. Ten-up entertaining and long coastal days are the Eelex's job, not this boat's, and buying the smaller hull for those uses will disappoint. Choose between the open version and the semi-enclosed Top on climate rather than budget — in northern Europe the Top materially extends the usable season, which is worth more than the price difference.

Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
